| 22nd | Wallingford
Rowing Club retained the Veteran coxless four title at the Fullers
Fours Head of the River on the Tideway this past weekend. The Veteran
crew with Wallingford members Colin Cusack and Sean Morris were joined by
two City of Oxford members. The crew finished 77th in a time of 20 minutes 48 seconds. However, they crew were not the fastest Wallingford crew. That privilege went to a men's squad coxless four, who finished an impressive sixth in the Senior 1 category in a time of 20:39 being beaten by only a handful of the top clubs in the country. The Wallingford women's quad were the fourth fastest women's quad of the day finishing 143rd overall in a time of 21:23. The crew consisting of stroke Helen Casey (Silver medal Commonwealth Champs and double Henley winner this year), Carolyn Jones (WL1x National Champion 1998), Lulu Butler-Stoney and Helena Malenczuk (Women's Henley winners in 1999) will have wished that they had got their entry correct and entered Senior 2 instead of Elite where they would have won the class. |
