9th The Wallingford Head of the River on Sunday 5th December was won for the first time by Wallingford RC who set a course record in the process. The race received a record entry of 219 crews, nearly 100 of them in Eights. Osiris, the Oxford women's Blue Boat were the fastest women's crew in both Eights and Coxed Fours. Reading University after a disappointing Eight's race were fastest men's coxed four although Abingdon School won three fours events out of six entries. In the pairs Sean Morris and Colin Cusack were the fastest pair, despite an overage age of over 50 and Phill Bentley and Ruth Dooley of Vesta were the fastest women's pair.
